So much seems to be crumbling so quickly now. Depending on your news sources, you’ve heard at varying levels the arrests, corruption and increasing controls happening in our governmental and monetary systems. For me, this is creating anxiety coupled with exhilaration. “Who can I trust?” and “We are finally free!” run through my mind simultaneously.
I envision a very large room occupied by everyone I know. You are there; my friends are there, as well as my family. We each wear identical wrist and ankle chains. These chains are lengthy – we can work, travel, live and love while wearing them. We understand they are there and they attach us to the walls of this room. We ignore them.
One day, one of us moves in such a way that his chains come loose. Actually, he follows the length of chain all the way to where it is hooked to the wall and discovers the truth – there is no hook!
He is ecstatic! He dances around, right in front of us, saying “Look!” “Look!” “These chains are attached to nothing!” With his chains dangling from his arms and legs he jumps around in joy and we are shocked and perplexed.
“He is weird”, we whisper. “Someone make him stop.” We solemnly nod our heads, wrap our chains securely around our limbs, and ignore him.
Yet he doesn’t stop. He keeps dancing and shouting and one day, he is gone. We nod our heads again and say “See; now he’s done it.” We imagine the worst fate has befallen him. He doesn’t return.
His closest friends begin to follow the length of their own chains. They too discover, as he did, that they are attached to nothing. They begin to dance and sing and rattle their chains. We can barely hear ourselves think!
Our chains begin to feel uncomfortable. We can no longer pretend they aren’t there.
Depending on who and where you are, you are someone in this story. The story we’ve been told is coming apart. This is not reason to fear, it is reason to celebrate. Embrace the change. Be prepared to respond. Fear and panic do not serve you. You will know what to do. Trust your truth.
You came now to participate in this time; this mass unchaining of humanity. Listen to your heart. Do what serves you and those you love and live with. We are loosening the bonds of manipulation and the lightness we feel may be dizzying at first. Hang in there, for from here we fly.
We are the ones we are waiting for.
