A cacophony of crickets
Today I heard a cacophony of crickets. An unexpected sound, in a surprising location; it gave me pause. It is, I believe, their mating sound. It is as if they were saying, “I am here. I am here! I am here!!!”
Just like the crickets, none of us wants to miss our chance. If we can grab joy or love or fun or MORE, then we want to. We spend a good part of our lives doing things we don’t enjoy, in order to “earn” these other things, the fruits of our labor.
This shift in consciousness will include a shift in attitude. Children live as if “fun” is their inherent right and we don’t fault them for it. We think it is only because they are children; they don’t yet know the ways of the world. When an adult acts mostly playful, we wonder. It doesn’t seem right. Shouldn’t they be more serious? Why aren’t they busy working?
A shift in unity will mean that we will all have equal access. No longer will we have to drown each other out to get the best or to be noticed or to have the most. Love, joy, food, shelter, health will be available abundantly and always. We won’t have to earn it. Because we exist, we will thrive in a prosperous and generous world.
This is a radical change in the way we look at things. As humans being, we’ve come to expect life to show up in a specific way. If you are good, God and your parents approve of you. If you work hard you can succeed and if you save and sacrifice, you will be assured a constant supply of food and whatever you need to exist.
Your right to what sustains you exists merely because you do. Once this shift occurs globally, we will see that life is very different than we thought. It sounds too good to be true, that there are things available merely because you are here, yet, it is true. There will be a day very soon when this will be obvious to you, to all of us.
Our ideas of good and bad will eventually disintegrate because none of those stipulations will determine who is rich or poor; we are one. All will enjoy an abundant world. I find remnants of “deserving” and “earned” and “justified” still in my thinking. This tells me I do not think as ONE, yet.
I see the possibility for oneness and it is beautiful. I imagine believing in the whole and it excites me. We are diverse, exquisite, imaginative and thrilling and the potential for brilliance is everywhere! To feel the freedom to enjoy a warm spring day, regardless of where it falls in the week, is something we don’t realize now. We mold our children in the same fashion, with school schedules and tests and measures of their worth. We have believed, and rightly so, that these things were necessary in order to assure their success in life. No longer.
Life will be very different for our children. Our grandchildren will not understand the thinking of “requirements”. They will be living in a world where all are worthy, where everyone thrives.
So, as I listened to the crickets this morning, I wondered if their song will change as we do. No more anxious scramble to get the best, instead, constant awareness that the best is available always. We merely have to choose what serves us.
Imagine a world very different, and this is the world we will create. It is up to us to do so, and it starts with our belief in the possibility, followed by our expectation. We are the ones here to accomplish this. Our thoughts right now are the fragile beginning. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
There is no reason to wait. The time is now, to utilize your most powerful tool, your imagination. Imagine, believe, expect, and create. This is how it works.
What will you create today?
